Project Overview
CplusC worked in collaboration with an independent Architect to breath new life into this existing timber cottage. A dramatic new double-height pavilion to the rear of the cottage is the pivotal space that connects all spaces in the house – downstairs with upstairs, indoors with outdoors.
A new Kitchen, Living and Dining spaces provide the transition from the front bedrooms on the ground floor to the upstairs Master bedroom suite. A split-level arrangement works with the slope of the site resulting in a dramatic spatial modulation between Dining and Living. A set of timber-framed glass sliding doors and highlights allow for the spectacular connection between the interior living spaces, the existing terraced pool area and the outdoor entertainment spaces. The minimal palette of materials accentuates the spatial generosity of the design and provides an accommodating backdrop for the clients’ punchy tastes in interior decoration.
